We can't wait to welcome you to Le Formulaire. As your appointment approaches, please follow the pre-care instructions below to ensure your skin is fully prepared for your Lumecca IPL Treatment.
7-14 days before your appointment
Avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen unless prescribed. Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E should also be avoided if possible.
If you are taking prescription blood thinners such warfarin please discuss with us in advance.
If you have any history of Herpes Simplex (cold sores) on your face, make sure you inform the doctor one week prior to your appointment; this will allow us adequate time to prescribe a medication to prevent an outbreak if needed.
Cease active skincare a week in advance.
Please reschedule your appointment if you have been unwell.
Please reschedule if you have a sunny holiday or fake tan on your face in the 2 weeks before your appointment.
Avoid other facial aesthetic and cosmetic procedures two weeks before treatment. Dermal fillers most importantly.

Please avoid sauna or steam room 72 hours before the treatment.
For hair treatments please avoid colouring hair for 48 hours prior to treatment and root boosts or dry shampoo for 24 hours
24 hours before your appointment
Avoid alcohol to minimise the risk of bruising.
Avoid sun exposure, extreme heat and strenuous exercise to reduce bruising and swelling.
Start taking your coldsore prevention if prescribed.
For a hair treatment please have clea dry hair with no products applied.
On the day of your treatment
Come to your appointment with a clean face, with no makeup.
Always inform your doctor of all medications, including supplements you may be taking as well as your medical history.
Eat a small meal or a snack before your appointment.
Bring a hat and some sunglasses to the appointment.
LaseMD Ultra Aftercare
Thank you so much for trusting in us to look after your skin. To ensure the best results, please follow these aftercare steps.
Avoid wearing makeup for 24 hours minimum. Also avoid touching treated areas to minimise risk of infection.
Avoid strenuous exercise for the following 72 hours.
Avoid hot baths, showers, sauna, and swimming pools 72 hours after the treatment
Redness and a warming sunburnt feeling tend to subside within a few hours.
Tiny scabs formed after the treatment must not be touched or scratched.
What to do after treatment
Do not apply anything on the skin 2 to 3 hours after the treatment.
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
Cold air can be used post treatment to reduce discomfort.
Lase MD ampoule must be used morning and night post treatment session.
Skin must be cleansed with cold or tepid water before applying the Lase MD ampoule.
Ampoules must be kept in a fridge for up to 15 days post treatment.
Do not used any oil-based creams during the healing period after the ULTRA treatment.
Water based cosmeceutical should be used during healing period.
Please do not exfoliate your skin until it is fully healed.

Redness and a warming sunburnt feeling tend to subside within 24 hours depending on the sensitivity of skin. Recent Retinol, vitamin C, glycolic and salicylic acid use may produce more pronounced redness.
The treatment area may present mild oedema (swelling) following the treatment. This typically resolves within few hours or few days after the treatment. In rare cases there may be prolonged oedema and erythema.
Momentary discomfort may be experienced during the procedure. Moderate to strong burning sensation might be felt after the treatment and usually resolves within one to two hours.
The possibility for scar formation is possible if keloid scar tissue treated.
Use of active ingredients such as Retinol may increase skin sensitivity and should be avoided a few days prior to the treatment and 7 days post treatment.
Micro impact points might be felt up to 5 days following the treatment.
Skin might appear dry with a ‘sandpaper” like feel for up to 10 days following the treatment.
We advise that LaseMD treatments require a course and you should schedule this in 4-6 weeks.
