Wrinkle Relaxer Precare

We can't wait to welcome you to Le Formulaire. As your appointment approaches, please follow the pre-care instructions below to ensure your skin is fully prepared for your Wrinkle Relaxer Treatment.

7-10 days before your appointment

  • Unless prescribed, avoid taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as Ibuprofen. Fish oil, Ginko Biloba, St. John’s Wort and high doses of vitamin E should also be avoided. Regular multi-vitamin and paracetamol are permitted (If not contraindicated).

  • Sunburn skin is difficult to treat so avoid exposure to the sun.

  • Avoid other skin, beauty, aesthetic treatments (examples include eyebrow tinting, waxing, dermaplaning, facials, peels, microneedling, laser) for two weeks prior treatment.

  • Take time to read the consent and information about wrinkle relaxers.

24 hours before your appointment

  • Avoid alcoholic beverages as this can increase the risk for bleeding and bruising at the treated site(s).

  • Attend your appointment without makeup on.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise before treatment to minimise risk of bruising.

On the day of your treatment

  • Eat a small meal or a snack before your appointment.

  • Always inform your doctor of all medications, including supplements you may be taking as well as your medical history.

Wrinkle Relaxer Aftercare

Thank you so much for trusting in us to look after your skin. To ensure the best results, please follow these aftercare steps

Wrinkle relaxer results last approximately 3-4 months although inter-individual differences are possible. It is normal to notice a gradual wearing off from week 6-8. This depends on how your body metabolises of the product and is the natural way the muscles start to gain movement again.

Some treatment areas may differ in terms of longevity. For example, treatment for bruxism or hyperhidrosis can last up to 5-6 months, while treatment around the eyes may wear off in 2 months.

We advise all new clients to attend a review at 2-3 weeks post treatment. We usually recommend you wait for a review until 2 weeks post treatment to allow your treatment to take full effect. We also advise against a review after 3 weeks to reduce the risk of immunity.

If you are unsure about your treatment result or any potential side effect please contact the clinic so that we can support you.

  • You will start to see improvement in 3-10 days, with complete results coming into effect 2-3 weeks after your treatment. Some areas vary.

  • You will have a few small red bumps on your skin following your treatment, these normally disappear within a few hours. It's normal to feel some stinging in the areas of your treatment for 10-15 minutes after your appointment.

  • We will contact you two weeks following your treatment to check in and schedule a complimentary review if needed.

What to do after treatment

  • Drink plenty of fluids and avoid touching the areas to reduce risk of infection.

  • Wash your face gently the evening after treatment, avoiding putting pressure on your face or using actives.

  • You can shower/bath the day following your treatment.

  • Please avoid makeup for a minimum of 2 hours post procedure.

  • Please do not lie down within 4 hours of treatment to ensure equal distribution of the product.

  • Please do not get facials, wax or massage the treatment area for two weeks after treatment.

  • Please do not take aspirin, ibuprofen, or other anti-inflammatory medication for 24 hours (unless prescribed) after treatment as this may increase bruising. You may take paracetamol if you feel discomfort.

  • Please do not do any strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment and avoid extreme hot and cold environments for 2 weeks.
